Considerable efforts have been made to obtain basic Transit services for our communities. Mr. David Hendsbee says the service will not change within the current area tax structure. Unless district 3 residents want to pay more taxes don't expect better service.
Meanwhile, Metro Transit forges ahead with proposals such as high-speed ferries, standardization of fare boxes in all buses and increased security in buses. In other words, instead of developing basic get-to-work services in outlying communities; they choose to modernize without vision. Metro Transit has produced another survey to assist in determining their priorities for future growth. You are encouraged to go to www.hrmlistens.com and complete the survey. Let them know you want service in your community and do give them suggestions and recommendations. Our local politicians may not be very interested in pushing basic transit service for HRM, but maybe if there is enough feedback directly to Metro Transit; they will listen
